Celtic Roots Bonsai

Celtic Bonsai is arranging two shows, first mid April and the second mid October 2016. The idea of the 2 shows is for the people exhibiting their trees to show the same trees in Spring and Autumn so the people who come to the shows will see the trees at their best with the fresh Spring growth and trees in flower and then in beautiful Autumn colour and then the flowering trees bearing fruit.

They will both be open shows where the individual not the bonsai club displays their trees (although clubs are welcome). This is open to anyone who wants to display one tree or a number of trees - hoping to attract trees that haven't been shown before or not for a number of years. The venue has two rooms so the larger room will be for all varieties of trees and the smaller room will be for flowering trees. I'm hoping there will be some demonstrations along the lines of how to wire a tree correctly and styling Yamadori but it wont be by anyone who's famous. The whole idea is to uncover talented individuals who perhaps don't belong to clubs or want to show trees that clubs haven't approved.

Saturday 16th April 2016 has been confirmed as the first date. If you want you can

set up on the Friday after 5pm or Saturday morning after 8am and if needed you can collect your trees Sunday after 10am.

Ponthir Village Hall postcode NP181GX in Newport South Wales will be the venue.

The doors open at 10am and hopefully it will run into the evening. There will be hot and cold food, refreshments

and the bar opens at midday and there is also an area with tables and chairs for a social. Dan Butler will be there

selling his fabulous hand made pots and anyone displaying a tree can bring a tree to sell that they want to move on.

The price to show a tree is £1.50 per tree or £5 per 6ft table this needs to be booked in advance payment is through

PayPal using this email address nigel.croome@aol.co.uk (anyone who wants to show a tree should contact me before

paying to make sure there are spaces left). Exhibitors can set up from 8am on the Saturday or from 5pm to 6.30pm

on the Friday.

There is a small entry fee of £1 and children are free.

The show is called the Celtic Roots Bonsai Open.
Cheers Nigel.
